Course Catalog and Textbooks

We are in the process of revising our course catalog. Please check back for updates.

Interested individuals can access our current courses by searching current semester offerings on Schedule of Courses.  We offer different elective courses each semester, so this is not a comprehensive list of all our courses.  After a semester is selected from the Term dropdown, from the Subject dropdown, select “HM: Human Medicine, College Course”.  Then in the Course Number field, type “8*”.  Leaving all other fields as they are, click the “Find Courses” button at the bottom.

A list will populate of all courses we offered that semester.  Any course above HM 893 is not an MPH courses.  MPH core courses are HM 801 – HM 806 and the culminating experience courses are HM 891, HM 892, and HM 893.  The remaining courses are the MPH elective offerings. To view the course description, click on the course number and the description will pop up.

Textbooks for our courses can be obtained from a variety of sources, including the Spartan Bookstore and the Student Book Store

State Authorization: Distance Education Restrictions Based on Permanent Residence

Michigan State University is obligated to comply with existing state laws regarding distance education (programs/departments offering courses delivered exclusively online). State laws regarding distance education vary state-by-state, and even program-by-program within a state. The Master of Public Health offered through the College of Human Medicine’s Division of Public Health at Michigan State University requires a practicum experience that constitutes a physical presence in some states, therefore restricting enrollment in our program to residents of those states.

Prior to applying, please access the State-by-State Summary , for the most up-to-date approved and restricted states.  For more information, please visit MSU's State Authorization website .  Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
