Future Plans: During her last semester of the MPH program, Michelle was fortunate to take a full-time position with Wayne State University. As a research assistant in the Center for Urban Studies, she is working with the Strategies and Tools for Overdose Prevention (STOP) unit to reduce opioid-related fatalities in the metro-Detroit tri-county area. Specifically, she is organizing a team of AmeriCorps members to lead overdose rescue trainings throughout the metro-area. See http://cus.wayne.edu/act for more information.

Future Plans: Andrea is currently employed as a clinical research coordinator working to bring new treatments to the community and advance medical research. With the MPH degree, she is hoping to advance her career with a larger focus on epidemiology and infectious disease prevention.

Future Plans: Kamryn is currently working as a veterinarian.

Future Plans: After the completion of her MPH, Joi will begin a position with her practicum site location, Western Michigan University Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine, as a population health research coordinator in the Epidemiology and Biostatistics department. She is currently a part of a research team that is conducting research on maternal and infant health, more specifically maternal, prenatal, and postnatal experiences in Kalamazoo, MI.

 Eric Szydlowski

 Master of Public Health

Future Plans: Dr. Szydlowski will be concluding his studies with completion of the MPH at Michigan State University. He previously earned bachelor degrees in health science and slavic studies as well as a Doctor of Pharmacy from Wayne State University.

During his time as a Spartan, Eric completed an executive fellowship with the Michigan Pharmacists Association, a pharmacy practice residency at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw, and worked as a clinical pharmacy specilist at the Detroit VA Medical Center with a focus on chronic pain, substance use disorder, and mental health.

Dr. Szydlowski is now a practicing ambulatory clinical pharmacist using Collaborative Drug Therapy Management at Yale New Haven Hospital at the Nathan Smith and Haelen HIV/Infectious Disease Clinics.

 Master of Public Health (concurrently enrolled in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program, expected graduation: Spring 2020)

Future Plans: Upon graduation from veterinary school in May of 2020, Whitney plans to work in small animal clinic initially, but will continue to pursue her interests in aquatic/zoo medicine and biosecurity.
