As the world evolves around us, so does the need for public health professionals aiming to mobilize change. Our 2020 graduates are joining the ranks of more than 600 Spartans in public health that are working to protect the health of people and communities. Although we are social distancing, we are celebrating the newest members of our #MSUGrad20 family with a special video message from faculty and staff.

May 8, 2020

Many in our Spartan family, local communities, families, and friends are facing unprecedented challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Large events where people gather, celebrate, and connect have been canceled or are postponed – such as MSU’s Spring Commencement.

The faculty and staff of the online Master of Public Health program have gathered virtually to celebrate and wish congratulations on this auspicious occasion as our spring graduates have attained a new standing in the Public Health family!

In this time of unprecedented change, we encourage you to take a pause, reflect, honor, and celebrate earning your Master of Public Health degree.

Further, we encourage you to put this public health knowledge and skills into use in a way that is meaningful to you and benefits your community. We are proud of your work and dedication and welcome you to our alumni family.

Who will address the public health challenges we face? Spartans will.

MSU Hosting Virtual Commencement
MSU will hold a virtual commencement celebration for all undergraduate and graduate students earning degrees at the end of the 2020 spring semester. The virtual ceremony will be on MSU's Facebook page beginning at 10 a.m. EDT (7 a.m. PDT) May 16, 2020. Spartans everywhere are invited to gather online and make this the largest MSU commencement ever.

The virtual event does not replace an in-person ceremony and members of the class of 2020 will be invited to participate in a future in-person commencement. A recording of the virtual ceremony will be available on the MSU commencement webpage following the Facebook event.

Social Media Celebration
We invite you to celebrate with thousands of Michigan State University grads by posting a special message, selfie, short video, or photo using #MSUGrad20 and #MSUPublicHealth on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter.

Congratulations Spartans.
