Volunteers walking in yellow vests to conduct surveys

The Flint Resiliency in Communities After Stress and Trauma (ReCAST) team will conduct a citywide survey to learn about the personal needs of Flint residents, Friday, October 25th through Sunday, October 27th from 1:30 pm – 7 pm daily.

October 22, 2019

This survey offers a unique opportunity for citizens to provide anonymous feedback about their public health needs.

“We first conducted this survey in Flint in 2016 to understand residents’ needs related to behavioral health, physical health, and water-related resources,” said Rodlescia Sneed, PhD, assistant professor, Michigan State University College of Human Medicine Division of Public Health. “Now, three years later, we want to know if those needs are being met. We want to ask community members directly so that we can identify solutions and resources to address our local health and well-being concerns.”

The survey lasts about 20 minutes at randomly selected households, and data collectors will be wearing neon yellow vests with identification.

Data collected from the survey will be used to help inform the city of Flint and Flint ReCAST so they can better address the public health and emergency preparedness needs for all citizens of the community. The survey will not collect any personal information – no names, addresses, or personally identifiable information.

It is voluntary, and participants can refuse to answer any question.
