Emphasizing health disparities and health equity solutions, researchers in the Charles Stewart Mott Department of Public Health have been awarded over $186 million in externally sponsored grants for community research. Funding success is the result of a strong relationship among community advocates. Partners in the community help fuel the efforts with resources and a shared commitment to improving lives.

Spartans work side-by-side with community partners and health care providers to encourage healthy behaviors, mitigate chronic diseases, identify environmental health risks, and examine the social factors that influence community health.
